An Spailpín Fánach (Drill Remix) | Fay'd | Live at the National Gallery of Ireland

Up and coming drill artist Fay'd made waves this summer with his original take on the old Irish poem An Spailpín Fánach transmuting it into an instant drill classic with style and ease. The now leaving cert student said the remix was born out of an inventive bid to convince his Irish teacher Ms McKeown ("Shout out to you Ms McKeown") not to give his class a test, and is indicative of a potent new Irish drill scene that's making itself known internationally, with Ireland fast becoming one of the genre's most influential and prolific outposts. Fay'd performed the remix live for the first time at Ireland's Edge - The Known World, a special livestream filmed in the National Gallery in June 2021. Premiered by District Magazine, this singular performance is now available to watch in full here. This performance was supported by Intel Ireland as part of Ireland's Edge - The Known World.
