Gwenno

Gwenno has now created three solo albums in Cornish and Welsh, the latest, Tresor (Treasure) is the first Mercury Prize shortlisted album not in the English language. In Tresor, she wonders ‘What are your roles in both shaping and being shaped by the cultures we move in, in a world that is ever changing, and where we all have a place?’ Raised in Cardiff speaking Cornish and Welsh at home and learning Irish dance, she joined Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance show in Vegas at the age of 16.

Mae Gwenno bellach wedi creu tri albwm unigol yn y Gernyweg a’r Gymraeg, y diweddaraf, Tresor(Trysor) yw’r albwm cyntafnad yw yn Saesnegi gyrraedd rhestrfer Gwobr Mercury.
